Catherine Bushnell
Psychologist
Catherine has a passion for listening to people’s experiences and, together, developing greater insight into patterns of unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. Once a collaborative understanding of the problems has been established, Catherine introduces clients to evidence-based psychological therapies that that are specifically tailored to address the needs of each individual. With dedicated effort and commitment, clients are guided to create new, helpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
Catherine completed six years of university training at the University of Tasmania in 2013 (a Bachelor of Psychology and a Masters of Clinical Psychology) to become a registered psychologist, followed by two years of further training to qualify as a clinical psychologist. She has worked in the non-profit sector providing psychological services to children, teens and adults from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds in throughout Australia, and in 2018 she established Catherine Bushnell Psychology.
Catherine is trained in the areas of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Schema Therapy. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.
